Do I need a Visa for Namibia?

Visa’s are available on arrival and range from zero to $100 USD depending on your nationality.

What makes NamibNOW different from other travel operators?

We only sell getaways and adventures that we have personally been on. We have stayed in the places and we have eaten the food. This way we can make sure that you get the best there is to offer.

Adventure Experience

Is it dangerous?

t is Africa, so there is always a bit of danger, however our guides are experienced and know what to do if confronted by a wild animal.  Best rule to live by is never approach a large wild animal.

What languages do they speak in Namibia?

The main languages are Oshiwambo, English and Afrikaans.  There is also German.

What is the accommodation?

We aim to always book 4 star lodgings where possible depending on your requirements.

We use “Air BnB” units mostly as they offer the most comfort and space for groups.

Is there Wifi?

Yes, all accommodation units have Wifi.  It is not as fast as Europe and the Western world but it is fast enough to get what you need done.

Are meals included in my stay?

Yes meals are included. Some accommodation offers breakfast, others will be on a “self prepared" basis, where the fridge and cupboard will have what you need to make a decent breakfast.  Lunch and dinner is supplied in the form of vouchers to local restaurants. Local drinks and snacks will also be included in your accommodation.

Booking, Payments & Cancellation

How do I book an adventure with NamibNOW.Travel?

You can book directly with NamibNOW.Travel or contact us via email or WhatsApp. Our team will help tailor your ideal itinerary.

What is the payment policy?

Deposit: A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking.

Cancellation by the Guest:
  • More than 60 days before travel – 90% refund of the deposit.
  • Between 30-60 days before travel – 50% refund of the total payment. 
  • Less than 30 days before travel – No refund.
  • No refunds will be provided for no-shows or early departures.
Cancellation by NamibNOW.travel:
  • If we need to cancel a booking due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., extreme weather, park closure), guests will be offered an alternative date.
  • If an adventure is interrupted due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., force majeure), refunds will not be issued, but we will endeavour to offer reasonable and available alternatives
Changes & Rescheduling:
  • Requests to reschedule a booking will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to an administration,booking and/or cancellation fees.
  • Deposit: A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking.
  • Balance: The full amount must be paid 60 days before arrival.

We strongly recommend travel insurance in case of unexpected cancellations.

Travel & Safety

Is Namibia safe for tourists?

Yes. Always take care of your belongings and don’t go in to poorly lit areas at night and you will be 100% fine.

What currency is used, and can I pay by card?

Namibia uses the Namibian Dollar that is pegged to the SA Rand.  Credit/debit cards are widely accepted, but cash is recommended for small purchases and tips. Cash can be drawn from an ATM. Ask you driver to stop at one and he will gladly oblige.

What should I pack for my desert adventure?
  • A warm jacket for early mornings/evenings
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Sunscreen, hat & sunglasses
  • Binoculars & camera
  • Personal medications


How much luggage can I bring?

If flying into Namibia, domestic flights have strict weight limits (20kg/44lbs checked luggage).

Soft bags are preferred for ease of transport.
